Opening Reception: "Pieces of Us" Solo Show at Bright

The new show, “Pieces of Us,” from Liz Lindström will open with a reception with the artist on Friday, December 8, from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. at Bright (1705 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78212). The online show will launch on Monday, November 27, and most pieces in the collection will be available for purchase at https://artistlizlindstrom.com/store.

The opening reception at Bright will feature a meet and greet with the artist, light appetizers and drinks, and an interactive piece of artwork, “Pieces of Our Selfie,” for all ages. Limited edition merchandise will include bespoke t-shirts and signed show posters.

Liz is excited to be releasing a show after spending years in development and production. “This is a collection I’ve been working on since 2020 and it is truly a celebration of the concept that ‘there are no mistakes in art,’” she said. “I’ve taken pieces from my process with commissioned portraiture, from the pile of ‘mistakes and first tries’ and asked what they could be next.”

The work in the show includes fragments of portraiture, as well as original figurative and abstract pieces, many of which combine these different style and elements. The styles of the pieces in this collection range from soft and dreamy to bold and challenging. Each piece explores some aspect of identity and relationship, many of them inviting the viewer to question their own relationship with themselves, and some focused more on relation with others. A few of the works simply invite us to view the reality around us in a new way.

Liz’s personal journey over the past few years has played a huge role in how this collection came into form. Her hope is that each viewer of this show has the opportunity to get more curious and sit with their own life and identity, as well as their relationship to themselves and those around them.

Online Show

In addition to the live show at Bright, the online show will launch the week prior, on Monday, November 27. The pieces in the collection available for purchase will be listed on the website. All items purchased include free shipping before Christmas within the U.S. The deadline for all orders is Monday, December 11, 2023.

When: Cyber Monday, November 27th
